Load Flow Analaysis

Through comprehensive Load Flow studies, the root cause of power quality problems can be identified, that disturbs optimum power flow. Arc Flash Studies

Arc Flash can cause serious and potentially devastating effects. Ensuring operator safety and compliance can be a difficult task. We provide comprehensive arc flash assessments which meet the requirements of relevant standards, and ensure compliances with regulatory requirements.

Short Circuit Studies

Short circuit studies evaluate the capability of the switchgear and cables to sustain the short circuit currents. The results obtained are used to recommend changes, required for system reliability.

Motor Starting Studies

Motor starting studies are performed to evaluate the impact on the power system during starting, and ensure that the system is operated within the prescribed voltage limits during starting transients. Motor starting studies are typically performed to ensure system reliability, design adequate motor protection, and suggest modifications, in the system, that might be necessary to avoid starting problems. These studies help to recommend selection of different starting techniques (VFD, Soft Starters…etc) to mitigate the issues identified during starting.

Co-ordination Studies

The reliability of Power system is challenged every time an expansion, reconfiguration, additional load or upgrade takes place. Short circuit and Coordination Studies help manage these complexities by ensuring that the protective device closest to an overload or short-circuit condition is the one that operates to quickly isolate a failure. Coordination studies guarantee fast, selective, and reliable relay operation to isolate the power system faulted sections.

Transient Stability Studies

Transient Stability is the ability of the power system to maintain synchronism of all the machines in the event of a disturbance such as sudden loss of synchronism or fault. The primary objective of transient stability study is to avoid system blackouts. Transient Stability Studies are helpful in evaluating the ability of the power system to maintain stability during disturbances and obtain stable operation. These studies help recommend Load Shedding schemes, and propose relevant relays to improve stability.

Harmonic Studies

Harmonic studies are normally performed to determine harmonic distortion levels and filtering requirements within a facility, and to evaluate if harmonic voltages and currents are within acceptable levels. The recent addition of non-linear (VFD, UPS, Inverters…etc) loads in the power system has led to power quality problems. Harmonic studies are helpful in determining the characteristics of the non-linear loads and eventually evaluate mitigation techniques to improve the power quality of the power system.
